Jb weld works but it is a two part consumer product relatively cheap for a reason. Once cured jb weld can be drilled filed and tapped making it ideal for automotive or machinery repairs. There area number of other two part epoxy products available but quite frankly i d never found any to be the equal of j b weld. It is the duct tape of the epoxy world but then i found devcon s line of products.

Any reason jb weld won t work as good as devcon. Seems like the same release agents work. It s something that you should keep in your toolbox while traveling. Another example motorcycle side cover with a casting flaw causing it to weep oil.

That means it has steel flakes in it as a filler. The jb steel regular has a higher psi strength when cured and the temp rating is 550f vs the devcon 250f. Time and place for jb weld. If i want to bond two surfaces i d use a good epoxy cement not a putty especially if there is no gap to fill.

You will get good results with any of them. Don t forget good old jb weld. Example leaking radiator hose due to corrosion on the pipe fitting. White marine tex is useful if one wants to color the bedding to match the stock.

With this product j b weld has truly outdone themselves. I have used it very successfully in automotive applications.
